August 10, 1:00pm-3:00pm: The Three Rs of Human Resources Management for Millennial Employees: Recruit, Relate, and Retain

There have been many unreliable articles in the media and popular press written about Millennial employees regarding their workplace behavior and how management should address these concerns. This weakly based evidence in relation to generational differences has resulted in imprudent leadership decisions by some managers. Management decisions based upon untruths concerning Millennial employees have created generational conflict problems. Human resources professionals rely on management researchers to provide scholarly and convincing evidence for use in developing reliable systems and procedures. Research information from a recent nationwide study provides best practice human resources management methods for the youngest Millennial members known as Generation C (as in Connected). Additionally, after a five year scholarly, peer reviewed, research study just completed on generational work-value differences the three Rs of successfully managing Millennials have been revealed: Recruit, Relate, Retain. Reliable and effective human resources strategies are presented suggesting how human resources professionals should advise their clientele to recruit, relate and retain the largest, and most technologically capable, generation in the U.S. workforce.
